That's only part of the problem. If batters stayed in the frickin box instead of going walkabout after every pitch, things would clip right along.
@PostMasterGeneral umpires already have zero obligation to grant a request for "time," batters just always assume it will be granted and umpires allow them to get away with it.
the unwritten "rules" of baseball have more force than the gd written rules.
@PostMasterGeneral i mean, fair, it's their fault. they are responsible for enforcing the rules, and they are not doing that.
