COVID Poll

At this point in the pandemic, if I'm Vaxxed and Boosted, is it unreasonable of me to not want to work in close proximity to an UnVaxxed Coworker for a day?

COVID Poll

@PostMasterGeneral I voted no, but if you're both wearing masks it's probably fine

COVID Poll

@neoncoughh

I'm 100% certain they'll refuse to wear a mask all day.

COVID Poll

@PostMasterGeneral I'm so tired of these fucking pissbabies

re: COVID Poll

@PostMasterGeneral
You are protected from the dominant strains that vaccines were developed for, not whatever they are potentially carrying.

My wife and I were vaxxed and boosted, still caught it, and despite having mild cases have developed long term symptoms which suck ass and have ruined our lives.

re: COVID Poll

@probgoblin

Yikes. I hope things turn around for you.

re: COVID Poll

@PostMasterGeneral
We caught it sometime in late December and I am just now getting past the brain fog to the point where I can do basic arithmetic in my head again. My wife was afib up until last week.

The lung scaring is probably here to stay so... that's what a "mild" case looks like. Anyone saying that this is over or not that big a deal can get as fucked as I am.

COVID Poll

@PostMasterGeneral I didn't vote, but the best thing for preventing Omicron is masks because the vax isn't as strong against it as other variants, so having less virus floating around makes a big difference. And for masks to be effective, everyone should be wearing one. So it's reasonable to not want to be in close proximity if your coworker isn't wearing a mask, less reasonable if you both are.

COVID Poll

@PostMasterGeneral Someone I know got COVID twice after getting their booster

COVID Poll

@PostMasterGeneral I work in a music venue it’s definitely cause for concern. This winter despite all staff being vaxxed / boosted , wearing masks and the venue having a strict vaccination policy nearly every single staff member got covid, sometimes more than once. Now that a new wave/ outbreak has begun multiple staff members are once again out with covid.

The TLDR: if a co-worker / anyone you know is completely unvaccinated, STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM THEM

re: COVID Poll

@PostMasterGeneral It is definitely not unreasonable, as fully vaccinated people can still get COVID and more importantly long COVID, and your chances of getting COVID are higher if you have to be in proximity with this coworker. You have a nonzero risk of getting disabled with a new unknown long term condition.

I would say it's like "Is it unreasonable for me to refuse to ride in a car when the driver refuses to wear a seatbelt, even if I'm wearing a seatbelt?"

COVID Poll

@PostMasterGeneral absolutely not unreasonable at all! theres a pandemic outside.

i will not work with anyone, regardless of vax status at this point. my company just had a big spring party this week, which i didn't attend either. not the right time yet…

regardless of what you decide, stay safe out there! ☺

COVID Poll

@PostMasterGeneral If they're unvaccinated at this point, there's other reasons you might not wanna be around them.
